BLOOMINGTON — William D. “Bill” Squires, 72, of Bloomington, passed away at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday (Feb. 24, 2015) at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.

His funeral will be at noon Monday at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington, with the Rev. Jeffrey Windy officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Bill was born Dec. 14, 1942, in Bloomington, the son of Elbert and Louise Alice Pike Squires.

Survivors include his loving partner of 20 years, Barbara Cronic, Bloomington; one sister, Mary Botkin, Bloomington; one brother, James (Frances) Squires, Wichita Falls, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Mildred, Nell, Theresa and Judy; a brother, Jerry; and two brothers-in-law, Edward Botkin and Paul Eppley.

Bill graduated from Bloomington High School in 1960. He was a mechanic at J.C. Penney for 15 years. He later cleaned for 20 years, employed by Kimco and 4M, cleaning at Country Companies.

Bill was an avid Cardinals fan, enjoyed fishing and loved Kentucky. He will be missed.
