Our BHS reunion website has lots of life in it yet. A renewal has been made to extend my ownership of our DNS website name of www.bhs60.net for a number of years into the future. Also we are paid up to "rent" space on a server for a number of years too. NOW! It's your turn. Please continue to send me items to keep this website active. Sure, the excitement of the reunion has calmed down but life goes on. I need you to continue to send me tidbits of what is going on in your life that you would like your classmates to know about. Photos are always welcome and enjoyed by all. Like, are you heading some place warm for the winter? What did Santa bring you for Christmas? Did you get together with one or more of our classmates for lunch? Around 15 of us "locals" around Bloomington had lunch together at Denney's one day last week, "Just 'cause". It was nice to get together and not be planning something and just catch up on our lives.

Please continue to check in at the website every so often as you never know what you might find there.

Email to me, as always, at bhs60@speednet.com

Thanks
Rose

I have a few extra pictures and booklets if anyone wants one.  The price is $16 for both, OR $6 for a booklet, and $12 for a picture. They need to contact me first to make sure I still have what they want.  I have more booklets than pictures.  Make check payable to BHS Class of '60 and mail to Norman Phillips, 202 S. Parkside Rd. Good news! We had a surprise after all bills for reunion were paid that there was more $$'s left than we anticipated. The funds to fund the website are now available to keep this going. This website will be continued for the next few years and possibly beyond, depending on interest.
Your help is needed to keep it interesting and classmates to continue visiting our website. Please continue to send me photos of your life and notes on what is going on in your part of the U.S. We all made good connections at the reunion and would like to continue to keep connected. Also, be sure to let us know if you change address, email address or phone #. This will make it much easier next time we need to contact you.

Rose,

James (Jimmy) Thompson passed away this morning (10-30-10) about 6 AM.
Jimmy didn't graduate with us but was a classmate through the Junior year attending Lincoln and Irving schools and the old BHS.  His family moved to Normal the summer of '59.  Jim, Bob Beutow and I joined the Air Force together and served basic training together.  I didn't see or hear from him until we found each other on Classmates.com last year when I was searching for lost class members.  We talked on the phone several times and he asked if he could come to our 50th reunion.  Bob, Jim and I were planning a reunion of our own.  He sent his money and was looking forward to coming.  Less than a week before, he became weak and went to his doctor, he was admitted and never left the hospital.  Though I haven't seen him in 50 years I will miss him.  After 20 years in the Air Force, Jim settled in Alexandria, La.

Mary Moran is moving to Ft. Myers, Fl. this Friday. We'll miss you in Bloomington, Mary!

BHS finished the regular season with a 6-3 record.  The three losses in one season is
the most in recent memory, but the team still qualified for the state playoffs for the
24th consecutive season, a state record.  The Raiders will play Chatham Glenwood
next weekend in the first round.  Go Raiders!

Attention anyone that was at or a part of the tennis players reunion Sat. of reunion weekend.... Did you happen to take a group photo of the tennis players? Linda Roberts Messer is looking for such a photo that includes her. She has seen one but she is in back row and partially obscured. If you have such a photo, please email it to me, Rose, at reunion60@bhs60.net and I'll get it to Linda ..... Thanks

Zona received word that our classmate, Craig Chaddon, passed away Sept. 11 from cancer. We think the date should be Oct. 11 because the last email Zona had from Craig was Sept. 27. When Zona had talked to him he had just been released from the hospital and told her he wouldn't be able to come to the reunion.

Hope you enjoy this little video I made of our performance (Madrigals). After publishing it to YouTube, I realized I didn't give credit to those who composed the music. Sorry about that! We had a great time, didn't we?

What a blast the reunion was. I believe all that were there had a good time. I sure did. I hadn't been to a football game in 50 years. Wasn't it great the the BHS football team won the game - like in "we skunked 'em". Go you Raiders!!! Anyway, if you have photos you would like to see on the website, email them to me (.jpg format preferred). If I'm not overwhelmed/buried in photos, I'll put them on. Today I'm putting photos online sent to me by Bob Gaston, Zona and my own. Enjoy.

Two classmates have let us know they are unable to make the reunion. We sure will miss them. Barb Nelson Vanciu and Terry Wach.

Sept. 11, 2010
Just 3 weeks from today we will be deep into celebration our 50th class reunion! TIme sure has flown. I updated the list of who is coming today so it is as up to date as I'm aware of. 88 classmates. 45 spouses/guests, 5 teachers with 3 spouses. I scoped out the new Marriott in "uptown" Normal this week as I'd never been there before. It is a very, very nice place and a great place for our special reunion.

Sept. 1, 2010
I just realized the reunion starts
1 month from today!
I added a few more names to the list of who is coming to the reunion (See "Who is coming" page").
My unofficial count is 78 classmates.

Aug. 21, 2010
As of today, the following teachers we had way back when have expressed strong interest in attending our reunion.

Miss Mary Selk
Miss Rosemary Dustman
Jim Bowers
Dwight Baker
Joseph Morin

Pretty good after 50 years.
Others have been contacted but feel unable to attend.

August 18, 2010
Three more classmates have sent in their registration.
My unofficial count of how many are coming as of today, is 74 classmates, 42 guests and 4 teachers. Sounds like a great reunion to me!

Hard to believe but with super duper detective work, we now have dates of death for all but one of our deceased classmates. No date for Pat Kelly McFetridge yet, but we have a good lead on that one. Only one missing is Kenna Jean Arbogast. Does anyone have a clue on her date of death? or know someone that might know? If so, email me at bhs60@speednet.com

Unfortunately, I will be in Europe at this time and not back until after the event.  Please pass on my regrets to everyone that I was looking forward to seeing.
Best regards,

Have you sent in your registration to attend the 50th class reunion? If not, do you realize the deadline was the end of July? Please, sit down and send in your registration
TODAY, right now!! The August 1st deadline was set so the guy doing our reunion booklet has time to put it together before he has to go on to do other things.

If you have not received your registration packet in the mail, please let me, Karen Sperlin or Zona know right away. I can be reached at reunion60@bhs60.net

July 31

Rose, I thought classmates might like to know the new BHS football stadium is nearly finished.  They expect to put some finishing touches on the project in the coming week, but all work is expected to be finished by mid-August, nearly a month before a game is scheduled.  It is a superb facility, probably one of the best in the state, and long overdue from that dilapidated thing they've had for so many decades.  A big article in Thursday's Pantagraph detalied a lot of stuff about it.... classmates could probably read that article in the online Pantagraph.

In the last week, great progress has been made in finding our "missing" classmates. Milan Jackson from BHS class of '63 has a hobby of doing searches like this and has provided us with many clues that have led to contact info for our classmates. If you happen to know Milan, please give him a big THANK YOU on behalf of the class of 1960 !

Five great funnies have just been added in the "Just for Fun" section. The first five listed are the newest. Have fun.

July 9, 2010

Do YOU have a personal website you'd like to share with the class? If so, email it to me and I'll put it on the website so we all can enjoy it. Send to Rose at bhs60@speednet.com

July 5, 2010

Your registration and information pages for the reunion have been mailed out by now. Look for them in your mailbox this week for sure. If you don't receive yours from the Post Office, please let Zona at zonag@connectingpoint.com or myself, Rose, at bhs60@speednet.com know. We are getting closer to reunion time!

Also, please look at the list above again to see if you can give us any clues on these missing classmates. THX
