NORMAL — Dixie Lee Abbott, 72, Normal, passed away Friday (Nov. 1, 2013) at her home.
Dixie was born July 16, 1941, daughter of William and Lena Kaupp Andrews.
She was a graduate of Bloomington High School, upon graduation she worked for Kathryn Beich and then worked in the real estate field while raising her family. Dixie was a lifelong cat lover; she always said she hated to cook but was great at it! And you always knew how she felt.
Dixie married Jerry Abbott, and she is survived by their two sons, Jeffrey Abbott, Normal, and Jamie (Robbi) Abbott, Arlington, Texas; grandsons, Jarek Abbott, Arlington, Texas; Justin Abbott, Bellflower; and Walker Moreland, Arlington, Texas; sister, Donna (Ed) Monroe, Peoria; her beloved cat, Contessa “Tess”; and many loved nieces and nephews.
A memorial visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at East Lawn Funeral Home, Bloomington.
